ai voice calls: what Amora does today

People search for AI voice calls expecting to ring a companion the way they would ring a person. That is not what Amora does yet, and this page says so instead of hiding it. What works today: every reply plays aloud in your companion's own voice profile, and you can send voice notes that she hears and answers. A live, continuous, two-way call - where you both speak in real time and she interrupts you - needs low-latency streaming audio in both directions. Until that is built properly, we would rather you know precisely what you are getting.

How it works, step by step

  1. 01Hear her in a normal conversationOpen a chat and press play on any reply. The text and the voice stay side by side, so the conversation keeps its history and its memory.
  2. 02Speak through voice notesHold the microphone control to record and release to send. She receives the transcript of what you said and answers in the conversation, in her voice.
  3. 03What a live call would needReal-time calls need streaming speech recognition, a streaming voice model and interrupt handling that feels natural. That is on the roadmap and will be published when it works, not before.

AI Voice Calls — common questions

Can I make an actual voice call to my companion?

Not yet. You can hear her speak every reply and send her voice notes she answers, but there is no live call where you both talk continuously in real time.

How is this different from a normal phone call?

There is no phone number and nothing connects to a phone network, so calls cost nothing and cannot be placed to anyone else. It runs entirely inside your browser session.

Will real voice calls be added?

Yes, but only once streaming audio in both directions works at a quality worth shipping. Until then this page describes the real capability rather than an imagined one, and the roadmap is updated when something ships.
